Accordingly, Mauritius Island does not seem to be a "destination off the beaten track" and yet this Indian Ocean island abounds in treasures which do not unveil themselves quite readily and easily. Mauritius is clearly a deserving island.
Most of the tourists are attracted to Mauritius due to the beauty of its beaches and its lagoon; however, the island's touristic aspect is not stereotyped to "sun, sea and idleness" only. On cultural grounds, it offers the rich variety of a significant number of combined ethnic groups. The existence of a multiracial, multicoloured and welcoming population increases our interest.
